ANALYTICAL SOLTION AND SIMULATION OF DYNAMIC STRESS INTENSITY FACTOR AND STRESS FILED DETERMINATION ON THE CRACKED PLATE UNDER BLAST LOADING

Abstract

Many structures that have been made of brittle material such as glass, concrete or strength steel plates may be subjected to impact or explosive loading. In this situation, material behavior could be considered elastic. In this research we have studied an elastic cracked plate under dynamic non-periodic load. Thus an especial non-periodic load like a blast load has been considered. Crack length is far lesser than the plate’s. By applying load on the plate, stress distribution and deflection of the plate have been obtained. The results of deflection and acceleration have been compared with experimental tests. Using the results, the relationship of a dynamic stress intensity factor at the crack tip located on the plate has been derived. Then it has been modeled with finite element ABAQUS / Explicit software and the results were compared. Finally, the relative error is compared for different crack length.
