Abstract

The maintenance scheduling of wind units can be done from the viewpoint of the ISO with goals such as reducing costs, increasing reliability, or increasing social welfare. However, the maintenance scheduling of wind units must be different for reasons such as the low operating cost of wind units and the effort to make maximum use of wind energy, and it cannot be done together with the planning of thermal units. This causes a different problem of maintenance scheduling of wind turbines. In the restructured power system, ownership of equipment and their operation are separated, and the equipment owner seeks to earn higher profits. In this article, a method for maintenance scheduling of wind turbines from viewpoint of power plant owner is presented, with the aim of minimizing the lost profit in the exit period. For this purpose, the PBUC model is used. Using the wind speed data in the study period and the Weibull probability density function, the wind speed in the area is predicted and according to the power curve of the wind turbines, the production of the turbines is estimated. To be closer to reality, the uncertainty in the estimation of production is modeled using the normal distribution and is considered in the planning problem of the units. Next, numerical results are calculated for an IEEE-RTS. The outage period of the units with the priority of losing the least profit is suggested to ISO. Then, based on the reliability criteria, ISO decides to accept or reject the proposals.
